ALLEN E WICKMAN Allen E. "Al" Wickman is the Director, Command and Control, Ops Systems and Modeling and Simulation. Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, The Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Mr Wickman's role is to ensure development of policy and guidance and provide oversight to ensure operational capability and readiness through operational advocacy and active engagement in requirements, acquisition, and programming activities for operational C2 mission systems, operational decision support systems, Live, Virtual, and Constructive-Operational Training, and Modeling & Simulation. He oversees three HQ USAF divisions as well as the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation. Mr. Wickman began his career of active duty service in 1978. During his military career he served as an instructor, evaluator, and operational test pilot accumulating over 2,600 hours in the F-111D/E/F, EF-111A, and F-15E aircraft with combat missions over Libya and Iraq. His career highlights include assignments as Chief, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff briefing team; Chief, F-15E Tactics and Test; and Commander, 429th Electronic Combat Squadron (EF-111A). Shortly after 9/11/2001, he commanded the 609th Air Operations Group as the Combined Force Air Component Commander's Chief of Plans and Operations for OPERATION ENDURING and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. As 98th Range Wing Commander, he was responsible for planning, programming, oversight and execution of operations on the Nevada Test and Training Range. He was Deputy Chief, C2 Ops, Employment and Force Development prior to assuming his current position.
