AFAMS is organized into three divisions:

  • Foundations Division
  • Operations Division
  • Mission Support Division

Foundations Division

The Foundations division leads the Air Force Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) Flight Plan Line of Effort (LoE) for data management and technical standards to support interoperability of operational training systems.

The Foundations division works to formalize Air Force OTI reference architectures and to define the necessary principles, rules, and guidance to facilitate a shared understanding across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) organizations, stakeholders, and disciplines.

Moreover, the Foundations division supports authorizing officials at Headquarters Air Force by executing and implementing Cybersecurity and IT Risk Management Framework programs for operational training systems.

Operations Division

The Operations division supports the Air Force operational training enterprise by addressing requirements for both current and future Air Force operational training infrastructures. The Operations division leads the Air Force Operational Training Infrastructure Line of Effort (LoE) for Joint Interoperability/interagency.

Additionally, the Operations division assesses emerging capabilities within Joint Forces, Industry, and Academia.

As the requirements lead for Air, Space, Cyber Constructive Environment (ASCCE), the Operations division collaborates with Headquarters Air Force and MAJCOMs to identify, prioritize, track, and advocate for enterprise level operational training requirements (e.g., cross-domain training architecture and future constructive training environments).

Mission Support Division

The Mission Support division supports Operational Training Infrastructure’s (OTI) strategic and tactical approaches to advocate the advancement of future and current Air Force enterprise training.

As the Executive Agent for Human Capital, the Mission Support division maintains the effectiveness, productivity, and skill sets of our forces for the long-term and short-term readiness of the Air Force and Joint Forces.

Additionally, the Mission Support division leads the Air Force OTI modeling and simulation knowledge management efforts to enable collaboration, reusability, and interoperability.
